FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Waugh Saddened by Passing of Lieutenant GovernorHARRISBURG – Upon learning that Lieutenant Governor Catherine Baker Knoll has lost her battle with neuroendocrine cancer, Senator Mike Waugh (R-York) has issued the following statement: "It is with much sadness that I note the passing of our Commonwealth's Lieutenant Governor, Catherine Baker Knoll. Wanda and I express our most sincere condolences to the Lieutenant Governor's family, friends, and staff. York County and our entire state are without a doubt better as a result of the many years of kind and compassionate service that Lieutenant Governor Knoll so generously gave. She appreciated, understood, and cared for all people in each and every community of this Commonwealth. She was a dedicated Pennsylvanian. On a more personal note, my daily exchanges with her in the Senate Chamber often turned to our shared appreciation of animals, especially horses. Catherine was a regular at the State Farm Show and every year she took time to visit with and encourage exhibitors from around the state. Her presence and leadership will be missed in the Senate Chamber, and our Commonwealth has lost one of her greatest advocates." |
