November 28, 2007 - The students, their teacher
Kelly Pedersen and her husband joined me briefly on the Senate floor
before the start of Session.

November 28, 2007 - I had the opportunity to meet
with exchange students from Christian School of York who visited the
Capitol to learn more about Pennsylvania’s state government.

October 30, 2007 - Along with Senator Connie Williams, I
participated in a press conference to kickoff November as
Hydrocephalus Awareness month, designated as such through a
resolution that we jointly sponsored at the request of
constituents.

October 30, 2007 - Senator Williams and I presented
a copy of the resolution to her constituent, Marybeth Godlewski, the
National Advocacy Director for the Hydrocephalus Association.

October 17, 2007 - A
number of exchange students visited Harrisburg to gain a better
understanding of our state government and to experience the beauty
of our state Capitol building.

October 17, 2007 - Mr. Roy Wescher, a local businessman from York
County, made his annual trip to Harrisburg with the exchange
students. |

September 18, 2007 - The Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs
Committee held a public hearing on the issue of raw milk. Read more

September 7, 2007 - Representatives from Dallastown School District
were among six groups to provide testimony regarding the effect the
current education funding formula is having on our schools.

September 7, 2007 - The Senate Majority Policy Committee held a
hearing in Manchester Township to discuss the current education
funding formula and its effect on growing school districts. |

August 16, 2007 -
Together the
Senate Local Government and Labor & Industry Committees held a joint hearing at
Westmoreland County Community College to hear testimony on the PA Construction Code.

July 18, 2007 - I met Diane Oleson,
Gypsy Moth Coordinator with the Penn State Cooperative Extension in York
County, at Rocky Ridge County Park for the taping of my monthly television
show. She shared her knowledge of the gypsy moths and what steps are being
taken to combat the problem in York County. Check out the show on White

June 25, 2007 - This year’s state PIAA Class AAA Softball
Champion is York County’s own Susquehannock High School softball team from
Southern York County School District. I was proud to welcome the girls, their
coaches, and Superintendent Dr. Tom Hensley to the Senate in honor of their
achievement. |

June 12, 2007 -
Joining me in the Capitol for the day was Matthew Daggett, a York County
political science and history graduate of Penn State University, who is
interning in my district office this summer.

5, 2007 - Students from Spring
Grove Elementary enjoyed an end-of-the-year field trip to the Capitol, and I had
the pleasure of greeting them during their tour of the Senate Chamber. |

April 16, 2007
- Pennsylvania Junior Miss 2007, Karin Tsai of York County, addressed the
full Senate in April to share her experiences so far and her plans for the
rest of her tenure. |

March 21, 2007 - York County businessman, Tom Wolf, appeared before
the Senate Finance Committee for a confirmation hearing on his
nomination as the Secretary of Revenue. He was joined in Harrisburg
by his wife for the hearing and was later confirmed by the full
Senate at the end of April.

March 20, 2007 - The Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, on which I
serve, held a confirmation hearing on Major General Jessica Wright’s
re-nomination as Adjutant General of the PA Department of Military
and Veterans Affairs.

March 20, 2007 - Members of the Pittsburgh Ballet visited the
Capitol in March for a short performance for the public and a stop
into the Senate Chamber where Senator Brubaker and I had the
opportunity to meet them. |

March 7, 2007 - During today's budget hearings,
Senator Waugh questions Secretary of Community and Economic
Development Dennis Yablonsky about the Governor's elimination of
Emergency Responder training and Municipal Code training.

March 1, 2007 - Senator Waugh expresses concern to Dr. Calvin Johnson,
Secretary of Health, about cross-boundary and interstate certification
of Emergency Medical Services personnel during budget hearings today.

February 26, 2007 – During
the Department of Revenue’s Budget Hearing, Acting Revenue Secretary
Tom Wolf, from York County, answered questions of the Senate
Appropriations Committee.

February 26, 2007 - I have
the privilege of serving on the Appropriations Committee and am
pleased to have a York County resident serving our Commonwealth as
the Secretary of Revenue.

February 6, 2007 - Mark Sollars and Maggie Stauffer,
students involved with Leadership York’s Future Leaders of York
program, joined me at the Capitol to observe my staff and I and the
workings of the Senate.

January 10, 2007 - At this year’s Farm
Show, I had the opportunity to participate in a
cow milking contest with fellow “celebrities.”

January 10, 2007 - My
fellow teammates and I developed a strategy
ahead of time, which ultimately led us to
victory! |

January 10, 2007 - Our winning team
included Pennsylvania’s Dairy Princess, Sara
Louise Caldwell, who not only milked the cow in
her tiara but helped lead us to victory with her
experience.

January 10, 2007 - Other fellow teammates
included Rep. Art Hershey and Sen. Mike
Brubaker.

January 9, 2007 - PA Dept of Agriculture
Secretary Dennis Wolff joined me for a quick
interview for the taping of my monthly TV show.

January 9, 2007 - During the taping I ran
into Senator Mike Brubaker from Lancaster
County, the new Chairman of the Senate
Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee.

January 9, 2007 - Senator Joe Scarnati,
the new Senate President Pro Tempore, attended
the Farm Show for the first time, and I had the
pleasure of showing him the many sights to be
seen.

January 9, 2007 - I happened to bump
into Lt. Governor Catherine Baker Knoll, who
joined Senator Scarnati and I in our walk
through the Farm Show.
